Transform3D's Big Jump

by Bobbi Byrne on Friday 5 May 2017

Transform3D is the philanthropic arm of Forward3D and aims to unite the talent and innovation of employees with the passion and the knowledge of the non-profit world, for good. One of the ways in which we do this is through fundraising for amazing social enterprise Year Here. Year Here is a platform to test and build solutions to some of society's toughest problems. It is a year-long immersive and action-orientated postgraduate programme in London that is grounded in daily frontline experience.

Tandem Skydive

This April as a fundraising challenge Forward3D staff took to the skies to tandem skydive from 13,000ft, at 120mph with North London Skydiving Company. Together staff have raised £2,062 so far!

How does our fundraising help?

The money we raise goes directly to the incubator phase of the Year Here programme. Within this phase, the participants test and iterate the ideas that they have entered the programme with and new ventures are born. We feel that this fits perfectly into our fail fast, agile work practice. Our funds will grow a steady stream of new ventures that Transform3D can further support, providing plenty of opportunities to our staff to do some good along the way by offering their expertise

Year Here work in practice

Through the incubator phase, Year Here ventures have been backed by Nesta, Bethnal Green Ventures and The Observer. They’ve collectively generated £750,000 revenue and reached over 2000 beneficiaries – from former gang members and homeless teens to isolated older people and refugee women.

Here at Forward3D, not only do we see an opportunity to have a huge impact working with these local social businesses, we also provide developmental opportunities for staff to enhance their skill sets, gain cross channel experience and do some good along the way.
